What’s inside the Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing course?

Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing is a great course to start making money with Affiliate Marketing Online, especially if you are a new blogger.

The course is from Michelle Schroeder-Gardner, the founder of Making Sense of Cents. The website started back in 2011 and shares all the useful information about making and saving money.

Michelle first started her blog as a hobby after work, but later, the blog became popular and allowed her to leave her corporate job. One of her primary incomes is Affiliate Marketing, and that’s why she offers this course sharing her experience and strategies for Affiliate Marketing.

The course covers the below topics:

  • What affiliate marketing is
  • How Affiliate Marketing works
  • Why it’s great to make money from Affiliate Marketing.
  • The steps and strategies that Michelle use to make $50,000 per month
  • Steps to pick the right affiliate products to promote
  • Tips to increase conversions
  • Effectively build trust and promote affiliate products without losing your readers.
  • The Strategies to promote affiliate products
  • Your Pinterest strategies for affiliate marketing

Since I took the course myself, I would like to share what I think about the course and share my result with you in this post.

My results from Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing

I purchased the course last year, August, and implemented the strategies two months later in my newly created blog. Below is my result.

  • October: $167
  • November: $200
  • December: $147

Before the course, I only made $70. My income has significantly increased!

How much does the course cost?

Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing Course is for every blogger!

The course is $197. You can pay in full once for $197 or two payment of $105.

The course is rarely on discount! I waited for three months and no discount at all. I advise you to take the course right away if you can!

If you find this course expensive, please note that this course teaches you how to make extra income. You can easily make money to cover your course fee once you implement the course’s strategies and techniques.

If I could turn back time…

Before taking this course, I spend a lot of time checking free materials about Affiliate Marketing myself online. The result was not that good, and I struggled with it for quite some time. I only made a few hundred dollars after countless trials and errors. That was an immense frustration.

If I could turn back time, I would take this course right away without hesitation and wasting my time. On the way to make a decent income online after my full-time job, I learned that your time is very precious, especially when you have a 9-6 job.

If a course with good reviews teaches me how to make money, I will take it without much hesitation because I know I could make money to pay back my tuition soon, as I did with the Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing course and Six-Figure Blogger Course. I make extra money and learn a new skill, isn’t that great!

What I like about the course:

#1: Actionable Workbook help me increase my increase

If you earn less than $1,000 per month, I believe you will improve your income after taking the course.

Michelle shares 80 Affiliate Programs you can join for different niches. I find it very useful, especially for people who live outside of the US but want to make money from US readers since I don’t know much about the brands and strategy.

#2 No pushy approach to promote Affiliate Marketing

Many people would think Affiliate Marketing is pushy. Michelle’s approach is not pushy at all. Trust is the most important. Only recommend products you’ve used.

While reading her real Affiliate Marketing cases in the course, she clearly explains why she did it and her strategy. I apply it after taking the course right away, and it worked!

#3 Share her strategy in Affiliate Marketing

This course is not just about theories, tools sharing, and a step-by-step guide on implementing it. It also shares the strategy you can use, the types of posts you can write, and how to develop the ideas for your posts that “sells.”

I find the strategies part very helpful since you don’t see this information online for free. People rarely talk about it. I learned a lot from this part.

#4 Organized structure and explains well in the course

Michelle clearly outlines the course well. She covers everything you need to know about Affiliate Marketing, from your correct mindset, tools you need, rules you need to follow, and what type of posts you can write in your blog.

#5 The course updates regularly and has a student mastermind group

Before buying this course, I send some questions about the course, like if the content is the most updated since the regulations and social media platforms algorithm change over time. Michelle replied with yes, so I bought the course. I can say the course is regularly updated!

Besides, the mastermind Facebook group is also helpful. If you have any questions, ask there to get support from peers and the team.

What I think the course can improve:

Every course has pros and cons. I will not lie about it since I only give my honest review, and I hope you find this post helpful. I am not a big fan of review posts that don’t tell the truth.

Here what I think the course can improve:

#1 Some part of the course is pretty basic

Since I tried to learn and implement Affiliate Marketing myself before taking the course, some content from the course is quite basic. However, this cannot be a con if you are new to Affiliate Marketing.

#2 Workbook is not editable

Although the workbooks help me to take action, the workbooks itself is not an editable pdf file. I find it very annoying. You either need to print it first or use PDF Escape to make it editable.

#3 Not a start your blog course. Get your blog ready before taking the course

The course is not a starter course for new bloggers. It does not teach you how to set up your blog, find your niche, etc. If you are looking for a blog beginner course, the Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing course is not suitable. I would instead recommend “Blogger Bundle.”

What you need to know before buying the course:

#1 No overnight success after taking the course

Michelle earns five-figures per month with Affiliate Marketing, but please note that she is a famous blogger and has massive traffic to her site. It is impossible to have Affiliate Marketing success overnight and get the same result after taking the course.

#2 Taking actions is the key to your success

After the course, you need to apply what you learn from the course into your blog. If you do nothing, nothing will change.

#3 The course might not be suitable for people making over $1,500

If you already make USD 1,50 per month with Affiliate Marketing, I recommend creating your digital products by taking this course. Selling your product is way more fulfilling than selling someone else’s products.

My tips for Affiliate Marketing and what the course didn’t tell you:

Implementing Affiliate Marketing significantly increased my blog income!
Source: Pixistock

#1 Keep searching for your best program to join

The course lists 80 different Affiliate Programs for various niches, but it is very competitive if everyone promotes the same Affiliate Products. Try to find products that not many people promote but with high commission.

Promoting not such popular products is my turning point for making $10,000 with Affiliate Marketing per year.

#2 Pick the right niche for your blog

It is possible to make money from Affiliate Marketing for almost every niche, but the market size and what products you can promote are the key to reach a higher income. If you are in a not so popular niche or have limited products to promote, your income is still minimal. For example, if you have a food blog, ad revenue and sponsor posts are your primary income since people usually check your recipe, not buy your products.

You can make money by promoting other people’s products, but how much can it be? It depends on your niche and market size.

#3 Affiliate Marketing income shouldn’t be your only income from your blog.

Why? If you only rely on Affiliate Marketing as your primary blog income, one day, if the companies lower the commission rates or stop their affiliate program, your income would drop significantly.

I had this experience. My affiliate income mainly comes from company A for my travel blog. However, one day, the company decided to lower its commission by 40% due to a tighter marketing budget. I had no right to argue about it, but to accept it, to have a significant drop in my income.

Therefore, even you can have a good income from Affiliate Marketing, make sure you have multiple revenues for your blog.

Is it worth it to buy “Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing”?

Yes, absolutely! If your income from Affiliate Marketing is not over $1,000, you should!

If you are new to blogging, you should take this course.

What if you are on a tight budget, and you can only take one course? Take the Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing course since you can find other valuable information about email marketing, setting up your blog, finding your niche, etc., online for free.

Blogging is a long game, and you need to keep investing in yourself and the blog. Take a course to make money and use the course techniques to earn more money to cover your course fee. I am sure what you gain can be more than what you paid for the course.
